NMD 201 week12

This week is the final week in this semester. we need export the final music after editing by using Reason. And then import the audio file into iMovie to edit the final movie. From the study in NMD201, i learn a lots in this semester and it gives me more experiences. During the 12 weeks, i create stop motion, edit animation by using After Effects, create music, edit music by using Sibelius and Reason. That is  really interesting class, it develops my creativity, intelligence and broden my horizon. After Effects, Sibelius and Reason all are new for me, i have not use them before. While now i know how to use them and  these software are really usefull in my future study. As a new media student, the period od handdrawn cannot existence without new technology. Advanced computer technology can help our to develop more new idea and improve ourselves. Another important thing is that this class provides more opportunities to have communication with others such as the group work. It includes many interactions during the class. Not only increasr my knowledge, but also develop my study experiences.

NMD 201 week11

This week, the stop motion and music were combined together. Firstly, we import the group stop motion into iMovie to edit it. For example, editing some transtions and title. After that starting the music Siblius file to import the stop motion video. Then the music score and stop motion were combined, video and sounds are synchronization. Follow the video, we can continue to create the musical score. Finish the music creation, export video and score to MIDI file. After all the stypes abrove, we can strat to use Reason to edit the musical sounds in different effects. Reason is one of the music production software and vitual instruments. From the study of Reason and Sibelius, i found the same instruments have very different sounds in each music software. Especially, the sound of drum in reason has much more choices than in Sibelius.

NMD 201 week10

This week we learn what the key signature is and how does it works. Key signature is constituted by sharps and flats.

we also learn the basic knowledge of piano keyboard. It is clearly on the piano key board that different between tones and semitones.. While a scale has 7 definitions, choirs and trials that one start on each notes of the scale.

As can be seen from this image, this week we learn about the music score, such as F major, D major, G minor and C minor. For example, F major which means key F is the home for this kind of score.
Sibelius is a scorewriter program which is created by Sibelius Software. It can be used for education, score creation and music communication. "particularly for writing classical, jazz, band, vocal, film and television music. In addition to editing and printing scores, Sibelius can also play music back using high-quality sounds, scan and import printed scores for editing, and publish scores on the Internet." NMD 201 week8

After study this class, we know what is the MIDI (Music Instruments Digital Interface).  According to browse some MIDI files, i know hoe does it looks like and then i can work on my music creativity by using Sibelius.  Firstly, we need create a new file to add some instruments, after that add to score by stype. This week we learn the main elements of music which are Meldy, Rythm, Harmony and Timbre. Meldy is a serious of single tones and the range of meldy is the distance between its lowest and highest. Rythm has different interrelated aspects which includes beat, meter, accent, syncopation and tempo. Harmony refers to the way that how chords follow with others. Timbre is the color of music. It shows the different sounds from different musical instruments. After the basic knowledge study, we use Sileblius to create different notes with different instruments.

NMD 201 week7

This week we start to study Music composition and working with sound. First of all, we learn the basic knowledge of music. Pitch was divided in to two parts which high pitch and low pitch. Score includes higher frequency, lower frequency and Bar. Rythm is the beat with time. We also learn the two names of notes head such as quavers same as eight note, crochet can be called quarternote, minnms can be called halfnote and semibroves can be called wholenote. They are different names for the same kind of notes. Sibelius is one of the software which we can use it to create music. It includes many instruments' sound for us to create music.

NMD 201 week 6

This week is the final week for stop motion. Our final stop motions were showed at the class and each group illustrates their animation. In my stop motion, it shows a girl prepare for a dating with friend,it includes the process of making up, changing and some interesting things happen during the preparation.Our stop motion was consisted by photograph as main background, chorcoal and paper cutting as foreground.From this class, i learn what the stop motion is and design a stop motion. It develops my creativity, intelligence and broden my horizon. Some others stop motions which made by other groups were showed different ways. That is very interesting. Students use different materials to design their stop motion and different stories was included. I also learn the basic knoeledge of After Effect and use it to edit photographs and create specific action effects on images.
